Tomorrow is the big day! We’re so excited to welcome you to Rock Island Farm’s Adoption Day — happening Saturday, May 3 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Whether you’ve already RSVPd to adopt a bunny or you’re still on the fence — you are so welcome here. This event isn’t just for adopters. It’s for anyone who wants to spend time with animals, enjoy the outdoors, and support a local family farm doing our best to move forward with love and purpose.

📍 Location:​
​3172 Rock Island Road, Scottsville, VA 24590​
🔔 Heads up: GPS may take you too far — turn into our driveway between the mailbox and the pond.

🅿️ Parking Info (See Map Below):​
🚗 Park along the right side of the driveway near the blue garage or up by the house.
🌾 If full, you can park in the grass on the left after the pond, or use our overflow parking near the hiking trail (walkable, but not accessible).

🐇 What to Expect:​
– Check in at the farmhouse porch with Grandpa Bill (our Vietnam vet + bunny barn namesake!)
– When it’s your turn, Matty will escort you to the bunny & chicken enclosure.
– You’ll get 20 minutes to meet and snuggle the bunnies with Emily & Betsy to help answer question. At the end of your time & if there’s a line, we’ll ask you to pick your lop or hop back in line.
– Adoption fee is $100 for cash, +5% for card - pay Betsy!
– You don’t have to adopt to snuggle and donations are always welcome to help us care for the animals and keep the farm going.

🌻 While You Wait:​
🎣 Bring a fishing pole to enjoy the pond
🪀 Play tetherball, corn hole, or swing on the tire swing
🪑 Bring a blanket or camp chair and relax by the (unlit) firepit
☔ If it rains, bring an umbrella — we’ll move bunny time into the covered barn

🥚 Bonus Treats:​
We’ll also have a few dozen farm-fresh eggs available for donation.
